People’s deputies and government officials quarreled at a meeting in March, but in the end they agreed to “live in harmony” – UP

Government officials and parliamentarians almost got into a fight, but in the end they agreed to “live in harmony” and go to each other’s meetings and answer questions.

So, in order to somehow smooth out this confrontation, the Speaker of the Council Ruslan Stefanchuk and the Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal jointly organized a meeting between the leadership of the Parliament, the heads of the committees and the head of the government and his deputy prime ministers.

At the same time, instead of a demonstrative act of unity and understanding, this meeting almost turned into a one-on-one relationship clarification. We are talking about the first deputy chairman of the “SN” faction Andrii Motovylovets and the deputy prime minister for reconstruction – the minister of community development, territories and infrastructure from Oleksandr Kubrakov.

Direct speech of one of the meeting participants: “Moto (Motovylovets – UP) is generally not very responsive and empathetic here. But when he charged the government, everyone gasped. He bluntly reminded them of everything that the deputies had in mind.

Stefanchuk and Shmyhal clearly did not expect such a turn. Kubrakov tried to deny something, and Motovylovets said: “Sasha, don’t start, because I will tell everyone here what I think about you, and no one will like it.”

In response, the Deputy Prime Minister began by saying that all those present at the meeting entered politics with the help of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and that all previous agreements on the principles of work were made with the President. And so it would be logical to ask him if he wants to change something.

Direct speech of one of the heads of the committees: “Everyone there was saying something – they were talking about how we should live in a new way, and Kubrakov is like this to Stefanchuk and says: “With all due respect, Ruslan Oleksiyovych, where is the President’s Office at the table? Do the two of us have to come to an agreement here? What will it do?” All the deputies were immediately thrown into the water.”

In the end, after mild mutual insults and reproaches, the representatives of the authorities agreed to “live in harmony” and at least go to each other’s meetings and answer requests.
