Removed from the military register for a bribe: suspicions were announced to the head of the VLK and an official of the medical commission

In Chernihiv region, the SBU exposed the head of the military medical commission, who for $5,000 issued fake medical reports to men of draft age, which allowed conscripts to evade military service and cross the border illegally.

It is reported that for $5,000, the perpetrators issued false medical reports to men of draft age, in which difficult “diagnoses” were prescribed. Then these documents were sent to the Military Commissariat with the mark: unfit for service due to “bad” health. According to the investigation, this allowed the men to deregister from the military register and go abroad.

The law enforcement officers informed both persons involved that they are suspected under the articles of obstructing the legal activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations and illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine.

The actions of the head of the VLK were additionally qualified under the article on acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official. He is currently in custody. The suspects face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Also, according to the materials of the SBU, the property of the detained ex-leader of the regional VLK was seized. According to the SBU, we are talking about almost 1 million US dollars, 4 apartments in Kyiv, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv with a total area of ​​more than 400 square meters, and land plots in Chernihiv region with a total area of ​​about 4 hectares.”

• On April 5, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a military serviceman of the Chernihiv Regional TCC and SP in the course of investigative actions in the case of the former head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Police Igor Kodovbetskyi.
• In February, during searches of the former head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Medical Commission, Ihor Kodovbetskyi, almost a million dollars were found in one of the apartments in Kyiv.
• The law enforcement officers reported that they had detained the former head of the VLK and eliminated a scheme in Chernihiv for evasion of mobilization and illegal departure abroad of men of draft age.
