Microsoft and Amazon have suspended access to their cloud products on the territory of the Russian Federation since March 20. This is reported on the website of the Russian IT company Softline.
There they confirmed receipt of official information from Microsoft and Amazon about the suspension of access to cloud products on the territory of the Russian Federation from March 20, 2024 and warned about possible functional limitations in the operation of cloud products and services of Microsoft, Amazon and Google.
“According to the letters from the copyright holders, access to cloud products such as (including, but not limited to): Power BI, Dynamics CRM and others will be suspended from the specified date. We expect that the suspension will also affect cloud solutions that contain these products,” – the message says.
The company also noted that these restrictions in relation to Russia are provided by the 12th package of sanctions of the European Union, which limits the supply of software for business analytics, Customer Relationship Management and other products to the Russian Federation.
“For Russian companies, this means that it will be impossible to use these products or access the data contained in them from March 20, 2024,” the message states.
Sanctions against the Russian Federation – latest news
The European Union will introduce new sanctions against Russia due to the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Restrictive measures will affect 35 individuals and two legal entities.
The proposed lists include several Russian prison and state officials, judges, as well as correctional colonies IK-3 and IK-6.
In February, the European Union approved the 13th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. In particular, it was decided to introduce restrictions against 106 individuals and 88 legal entities for actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
