Surat: The administrative building of the 27-storey municipal corporation will be the highest government office in the country at a cost of 1344 crores.

Inaugurating various development projects of Surat Municipal Corporation and SUDA at a cost of Rs 2,416 crore, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel proudly said that the state government has left no stone unturned to make ‘Gharib ke Ghar’ a reality. Following the motto of a roof over everyone’s head, the state government has constructed more than 10 lakh houses in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, out of which the beneficiary families have got the possession of 7 lakh houses so far.

Appreciating the development works of Surat Municipal Corporation, the Chief Minister further said that Surat has done successful work in the field of urbanization, cleanliness and infrastructure. The work of new development projects like construction of schools is in progress and planned work is being done to complete some projects soon. He categorically stated that the state government is always ready to help the Surat Municipal Corporation to complete the projects for enhancing public convenience.

Surat to convert all city buses into e-buses by 2025
