Teams affiliated with the Special Provincial Administration Road and Transportation Services Directorate in Muş started working two days ago to open the Üçevler group village road, which provides access to 10 villages and 21 hamlets and is used as an alternative by the villagers.

The teams working in the Çavuştepe location, at an altitude of 2,500 meters, which has been closed for about 3 months and where the snow thickness reaches 7 meters in places, had difficulty in progressing.

The teams proceed by literally digging a tunnel on the road and aim to open the road in 2 days.

Construction Machinery Operator Kerem Çakır said that the snow depth in the region reached 7 meters at some points.

Stating that they are making an effort to open the road under difficult conditions, Çakır said, “There is an avalanche risk here. We are working to combat snow in the Çavuştepe location of the Üçevler group village road. Currently, flowers are blooming in the plain, we continue our struggle with the snow here. The snow is very hard. The machine is having difficulties from time to time. 2 times a day “We can open 3 kilometers. Work continues day and night. We are having difficulty progressing. This is one of the highest positions in Muş,” he said.

In Hakkari’s Şemdinli district, teams started working to open the roads of the base areas where the snow depth reached 5 meters.

Having difficulty advancing in the difficult geography, teams affiliated with the Special District Administration continued their work to open the roads in a short time.
