JAKARTA, BALIPOST.com – Around 139 pieces of evidence for two cases during the trial of the general election results dispute (PHPU) or 2024 election dispute have been submitted by the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU).
Indonesian KPU member Mochammad Afifuddin detailed the evidence for the case requested by the Anies-Muhaimin pair as 68 pieces of evidence, while the Ganjar-Mahfud pair reached 71 pieces of evidence.
“Throughout the trial, the KPU has submitted 139 pieces of evidence for two cases with details of case 1 68 and case 2 71,” said Afif in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from the Antara news agency, Tuesday (16/4).
He said that the KPU’s evidence contained documents related to the voting and counting process, recapitulation of vote counting results from the sub-district level to the central level.
Then, there are documents related to the explanation of Sirekap as a tool and means of transparency in the implementation of elections, as well as other documents related to the stages of holding the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections.
The KPU also presented one expert and two fact witnesses who explained about Sirekap.
The Constitutional Court opened the stage of submitting conclusions in the handling of the 2024 PHPU Presidential Election case after the end of the trial stage of the case.
“We, the panel of judges, agreed that if there are things that still want to be handed over, even though this is the final trial, they can be accommodated through conclusions,” said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo at the end of the follow-up hearing of the 2024 PHPU Presidential Election case, Friday (5/4).
Suhartoyo said that the previous stage of presenting conclusions in the 2024 PHPU Presidential Election trial was not mandatory. However, in the 2024 PHPU Presidential Election case, there are many different dynamics from before, so the Constitutional Court accommodates the delivery of crucial matters and the submission of files that are still lagging behind through these stages.
