The Poles renewed the blockade of the “Krakowec” checkpoint: what kind of transport is being restricted

The blockade by Polish protesters began at 10:00 Warsaw time.
Polish protesters started protest actions and blocked the movement of freight transport in front of the checkpoint “Korcheva-Krakowec”, which was recently unblocked. According to the Polish side, the blocking began at 10:00 Warsaw time, the State Customs Service of Ukraine reports.
In particular, it is about:
- Blocking by representatives of Polish farmers and transporters of the road on which trucks are moving when leaving the Republic of Poland and entering Ukraine, at a distance of up to 1 km to the checkpoint;
- blocking by representatives of Polish farmers of the A4 highway at a distance of up to 500 m to the checkpoint (the blocking in the specified place has not yet been implemented).
It is noted that the movement of passenger transport (cars, buses) in both directions will be carried out unhindered.
Blockade on the border with Poland – what is known
On March 11, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – the Minister for Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure, Alexander Kubrakov, said that Polish protesters were stopping buses with Ukrainian citizens. According to him, the passengers were then held without any explanation.
Later, the Polish police said that the protesters did not intentionally block passenger buses on the border with Ukraine. Then the slowing of traffic was explained by “technical reasons connected with the passage of other protesting vehicles through the corridor.”
As of March 12, Polish farmers blocked five checkpoints, and in four directions they completely blocked the movement of trucks from Ukraine – “Shegyny”, “Yagodin”, “Ugrynov” and “Ustylug”.
