The Prosecutor for Economic Crimes, Evangelina Ríos, has lowered the request for sentences for Héctor de Armas by appreciating two mitigating circumstances: undue delay and confession. In this new scenario, he requests a sentence of seven years in prison for the initial 14, according to what was stated in the conclusions process that took place during the last day of the trial that is being held this Thursday before the First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas.
It does maintain the penalties of fines and the payment of compensation to the Tax Agency and Social Security.
This mitigating circumstance of simple undue delays should also be applied to the other defendant, Miguel Ángel Ramírez, who initially faced a request for a sentence of 21 and a half years in prison. In this way, he did not modify the sentence in question, although he increased the dilatory period in the investigation to three years.
