Hanumangarh. Voter awareness camp was organized on Friday with the aim of ensuring 100 percent voting of all the registered specially abled and elderly voters of the district. In the camp, the students of Jyotiba Phule hostel gave the message of moral voting through a drama. Deaf and deaf students of Navjyoti Muqabhir Andha Vidyalaya gave a spectacular presentation on the song ‘Main Bharat Hoon’ and made the elderly and disabled persons present aware about voting.

ACEO Sunil Chhabra administered the oath of pledge to everyone present to vote. Gave information about various applications of the Election Department. He appealed to vote on 19th April to keep democracy alive. In the camp, elderly people and disabled people were welcomed by garlanding them.

Social Justice and Empowerment Department Deputy Director Surendra Poonia said that ramps, drinking water, shady places to sit, wheelchairs, braille scripts, toilets etc. have been arranged at every polling station for easy voting for the disabled. For those disabled voters who cannot go to the polling station themselves and want to cast their vote at the polling station, they will be provided free transportation to take them from home to the polling station. APRO Shri Rajpal Lamboria, Naib Tehsildar Prahlad Pareek, Prakash Shastri from sweep team, Utkarsh were present in the camp. The stage was conducted by Bhishma Kaushik.

Will be able to demand facilities from Saksham app, more than two thousand disabled people downloaded it in the district last week

Surendra Punia said that disabled voters who want to demand or want information about the available facilities should download the Saksham application issued by the Election Department on their mobile. In the last one week, more than two thousand applications have been downloaded in the district to make the disabled people aware and made them aware about its use. From the app, you can get information about vehicle, wheelchair, ramp, braille script, voter registration etc. as per requirement and can make demands. Disabled voters can get other information regarding voting on voter helpline number 1950 or telephone 01552-294187.

16,510 disabled people and 11,837 elderly people above 85 years of age will vote in the district.

Deputy District Election Officer Ummedi Lal Meena said that 16,510 PWD voters registered in the district and 11,837 senior citizens above 85 years of age will vote in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. It is noteworthy that in the assembly elections 2023, there was a record more than 80 percent voting in the district.
