Vox denounces a new attack by radicals in Azpeitia after the incidents registered in Getxo and Mondragón

Vox denounced this Sunday a new “attack” by radical groups in the Guipuzcoan municipality of Azpeitia. This is the third attack suffered by Santiago Abascal’s party in the last 24 hours, after registering incidents in the towns of Mondragon (Guipzcoa) and Getxo (Vizcaya), where the formation held rallies and organized information tables as part of the Basque electoral campaign, whose elections will be held next Sunday, April 21.

According to Vox, “around 300 young Basque radicals, perfectly organized,” prevented the holding of an information table this Sunday in the Azpeitia Market Square. There, this group of people was waiting for them that Abascal’s party directly relates to EH Bildu: “Supporters of EH Bildu, who were waiting in advance for the arrival of Vox officials and affiliates to the place chosen to star in a campaign event today, have received them.” with insults and threats.”

Given these facts, the Ertzaintza recommended to the members of Vox – among whom was the provincial president of the formation in Guipzcoa, Juan de Dios Dvila– the transfer of the information table to another place in the municipality, but finally the agents urged the organizers to suspend the event. They had to be escorted to their vehicles, although the police presence did not prevent “the young radicals from hitting the cars and threatening their occupants until they left Azpeitia,” Vox denounces.

This is the third incident recorded this weekend around a Vox event in the Basque Country. This Saturday, the rally chaired by Santiago Abascal in Getxo had a special police security device due to the protests called against the presence of the Vox leader in this town. Finally, a person who threw an object at an Ertzaintza agent who was part of the operation was arrested.

Hours later, a group of Vox militants who were trying to organize an information table in Mondragón were also received with protests, shouts and insults in the center of the town. The tension led to the throwing of glass bottles and stones at the members of Vox, who, like this Sunday, had to be escorted by the Ertzaintza.
