Completed relocation of the 4th dangerous wooden house area in Hoan Kiem area

Recently, the People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem District (Hanoi) recovered houses and land for households in wooden house area No. 10, Chuong Duong ward to implement the project of land recovery, compensation, support, and rehabilitation. settlement for households in wooden houses No. 7, 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 17, Chuong Duong ward and the construction project of Sun Be Tho Kindergarten, Hoan Kiem district.

As a result of implementation, 30/30 households have complied with moving and handing over the site, complying with the move to build a school and do not have to organize the implementation of coercive land recovery measures.

This is a public investment project, land recovery for socio-economic development for the national and public benefit with the goal of ensuring the safety of people’s lives and property, while expanding opportunities. infrastructure, meeting learning needs, improving the quality of education and facilities to meet national standards in Chuong Duong and Phuc Tan areas.

Immediately after receiving the site, the District Construction Investment Project Management Board carried out corrugated iron to protect against encroachment and continued to take prescribed steps to dismantle the entire reclaimed area.

Urgent relocation for the sake of people’s lives

Two generations of the family live in wooden house No. 10, Chuong Duong ward. Mr. Phan Truong Giang said, it is too shabby here. For decades, people lived miserably and their lives were not good, so when the housing area was cleared, the people also responded and agreed. Thanks to the government’s concern and my family’s preparations before moving, life did not have many disturbances. Everyone here just wants to pave roads, build schools and public works for the people.

Mr. Pham Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Chuong Duong Ward, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi City, said that following Decision 4608 approved by the City People’s Committee, the People’s Committee of Chuong Duong Ward from 2023 up to now has relocated 4 wooden houses. : Houses No. 7, 8, 9 and are currently dismantling wooden house No. 10. As for wooden house No. 17, the ward has currently made a plan to compensate and support households, and in the next few months will also carry out clearance. Report detailed compensation plans to households to implement the project.

According to Mr. Hung, in fact, during the site clearance process, the majority of people living in these wooden houses agreed that they wanted a reasonable compensation price and compensation schedule to progress the implementation of the policy. School construction took place as soon as possible.

“The District People’s Committee also reported many times to the City People’s Committee and departments to agree on the additional support price excluding compensation, the people also agreed and excitedly handed over the premises. The local government really wants to clear this wooden house area, there are 3 remaining wooden house areas that we hope the District People’s Committee will soon relocate,” Vice Chairman of Chuong Duong Ward People’s Committee shared.

Built in the 1950s, 17 wooden dormitories are currently rated D dangerous and must be dismantled.

For the remaining wooden house areas, Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee has issued a Land Acquisition Notice and a Decision to establish a Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Council and a Working Group; Organize public meetings to announce land recovery, implementation progress plans, compensation and resettlement support policies and legal documents related to land recovery. It is expected that by the end of 2025, all households in the remaining wooden houses in Chuong Duong ward will be relocated.

With 30/30 households agreeing to move and hand over the site, without having to organize enforcement measures to confiscate land, this is the result of many “skillful mobilization” models of the Government. Hoan Kiem district’s public mobilization work always sticks close to the grassroots, creating trust among the people.
