At the age of 56, the Ukrainian writer, publicist, public figure and blogger died suddenly Dmytro Kapranov. Together with his twin brother Vitaly Kapranov they were hosts of the “T.G. Shevchenko” YouTube channel and published historical literature.
“Friends, we are in trouble. Dmytro died suddenly this morning. When and where farewell, I will write tomorrow. Everything else is cancelled, sorry“, he wrote Vitaly Kapranov.
The Kapranov brothers were born on July 24, 1967 in the city of Dubossary in Moldova. Later, the family moved to Ochakov, Mykolaiv region. They did not study the Ukrainian language at school, but received their higher education at the Ural Polytechnic Institute and the Moscow Energy Institute, majoring in “Technical Cybernetics”.
While living in Moscow in the 90s, Dmytro and Vitaly developed the Ukrainian diaspora – they published the Ukrainian newspaper “Tindy-ryndy” and the fiction magazine “Brothers”. In the same period, they started work on the first book “Kobzar 2000”, in total they created a dozen historical and fantastic works.

In the early 2000s, they returned to Ukraine, where they continued their activities. Together with his brother Dmytro, he founded the “Green Dog” publishing house.
In 2019, they created a YouTube channel “in the name of T.G. Shevchenko”, which talked about the history of Ukraine and myths related to it. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the twin brothers joined the “Azov” regiment and defended the Kyiv region. Later, they returned to civilian life and actively developed their channel about history.
