In the Lviv region, a man was convicted who received a summons, but after passing the military medical commission, did not appear at the TCC. He explained his actions with religious beliefs.
As stated in the case file, in court the conscript admitted his partial guilt, and called the actions of TCC employees illegal.
The man said that he passed a medical examination, but he has health complaints that were not taken into account. According to him, he is a believer and “does not want to hold a weapon in his hands, because his church and religion forbid it.” The conscript reminded that under such conditions he has the right to alternative (non-military) service.
At the same time, TCC employees noted in court that the man did not apply for alternative service or to refuse it.
As indicated, the Religious Organization of the Religious Community “Agapa” of the Church of the Christian Faith of the Evangelical Church in Lviv responded to the request that the defendant was not a member of the church and did not receive water baptism in it. Moreover, the priest of the religious community added that religion does not directly prohibit military service. He also noted that he still accepted baptism, but is not a member of the community.
As a result, the court found the man guilty. He received three years of imprisonment, but can still appeal the sentence.

As you know, in Ukraine conscripts who have received a summons must first pass a military medical commission. Whether a person is suitable for military service depends on this procedure. Lawyer Roman Simutyn told how the VVK passes and what documents it asks for.
The TCC noted that the mobilization in Ukraine has not failed, because in that case the Armed Forces would not have been replenished for several months, since they have been talking about it.
Michael Kofman, a senior researcher at the Center for Naval Analysis, said that now the majority of Ukrainians believe that mobilization is a one-way ticket.
