The “Musical Marathon of Support from the Stars” took place throughout the whole day on Russian Radio. The artists replaced each other at the microphone of a large multimedia studio and performed their most touching, most lyrical songs – in order to instill hope in the souls of listeners in these difficult days, to support and remind them: we are united, no matter what.
The station created a musical marathon of support in just one day. The radio station has always supported, always become a support, and given faith in the best to its multimillion-dollar audience. And none of the artists refused to join the broadcast that day, thanks to which the marathon lasted until late in the evening: the performers kept arriving and arriving at the studio.
It was on this day in March Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with cultural workers of the Tver region, he noted that culture creates the spiritual framework of the people in tragic moments for the country, supports identity, giving strength to the entire people and each individual person. And the music heard on the waves of the radio station was designed to help listeners feel strength and unity.
The marathon was hosted by Elena Sever and Yuri Kiselev. They were supported at the controls by their favorite presenters: Dmitry Olenin, Svetlana Kazarinova, Alla Dovlatova, Maxim Privalov and Ivan Solovyov.
“The goals set by the scoundrels will not be achieved. We cannot be intimidated or divided,” Kiselyov emphasized. “Today is a very important event, both for the Russian Media Group and for all the artists. This is not an ordinary concert, we are supporting people’s morale. At the same time, we help not only in word, but also in deed. We lead by example: we donate blood and transfer funds. After all, the main thing is to remember: only light can defeat darkness.”
Participated in the marathon Sergey Lazarev, Larisa Dolina, Elena Sever, group “Earthlings”, Grigory Leps, Yuri Kiselev, Stas Piekha, Victoria Daneyko, Vladimir Kiselev Jr., Dmitry Malikov, Natalya Podolskaya, Akmal, Mitya Fomin, Denis Klyaver, Masha Weber, Lyubov Uspenskaya , Irina Nelson – Reflex group, Diana Gurtskaya, 5sta Family, Olga Seryabkina, Seville (Artik & Asti), Alexey Vorobyov, IVAN, Alexander Revva, Roman Arkhipov, Denis Maidanov, Vladimir Presnyakov, Alexander Panayotov, ST, Yulia Savicheva, Anna Sedokova , “City 312”, Katya Lel, Sasha Santa and Guzel Khasanova, Sogdiana, Natan, Marko Radinovic, Andro, Elman, Toni, Mona, TO-MA.
Each composition literally touched the heart
As the presenters noted, the radio station had never held such a long marathon before. The artists communicated with the listeners very delicately and respectfully, presenting them with their songs. Each performer chose the repertoire independently – and each composition literally touched the heart: the artists themselves in the studio could not hold back their tears. Each performer sought to give a piece of himself to the listeners, to everyone for whom support and faith are so important now.
“I was at Crocus City Hall. I wanted to be there, with my presence, thoughts, feelings, as if to help, although this was impossible. The pain overwhelmed me – this is a very difficult event. Any words of support will be small. We are all grieving together,” Stas Piekha shared his emotions.
Together with IVAN, he performed the song “Don’t get on your knees,” which caused a flurry of enthusiastic comments on the station’s VKontakte page and on Odnoklassniki, where the video broadcast took place.
“I do everything that depends on me. I can only support people with songs and my attitude towards this. I mourn with the whole country, my condolences to everyone who lost their loved ones. I would like to wish endurance and patience to those who experienced this tragedy. Long live life,” said Larisa Dolina.
The songs that day sounded with incredible, unusual instrumental arrangements, which made it possible to look at many hits with new eyes. “I wish everyone well in this sometimes evil world. Do good deeds, good deeds. Be united and love. Love always wins. And good conquers evil. Let’s make this world kinder and more beautiful,” Sergei Lazarev, who performed the composition “Prayer,” addressed the audience. Alexey Vorobyov presented the premiere in the studio – the dramatic composition “Artist”, also performed in an acoustic version. Dmitry Malikov performed an instrumental composition on the piano, for the first time on air at the radio station.
“Our country has become one family that supports people who find themselves in an unprecedented situation. It is impossible to predict everything, I just want to say that this never happens again. It’s difficult to speak in such a situation, but as my grandfather said, life goes on. And I want there to be light in my new life,” says Denis Klyaver.
Rewarding heroes
As part of the marathon, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations who fulfilled their duty and took part in eliminating the consequences of what happened in Crocus City Hall were awarded. Commemorative certificates and T-shirts, autographed by all marathon participants, were presented to the deputy head of the service of the Centrospas detachment, Igor Akmaev, and the operational duty officer for the North-Western Administrative District of Moscow, Vasily Tereshin.
The radio station also awarded an employee of Crocus City Hall invited to the studio. Sofia Meyer, who showed great courage and heroism in leading people out of the concert hall.
The radio station also reminded listeners that everyone can help today by transferring funds for those who especially need them to the “Let’s Help Together” fund, opened by the largest Russian bank together with the Russian Red Cross: a QR code for the transfer was integrated into the video broadcast of the marathon.
Meanwhile, hundreds of warm and grateful comments from listeners gathered under the video: “Thank you for such support… now everyone is lost and confused… together we will cope!!!”, “Deep respect to the entire radio team and artists, thank you for such an important and the right event”, “Thank you very much to Philip for this song! Amazing!!! There’s no other way to say it,” “Thank you for such a marathon!!! This is powerful!!” Listeners noted that they could not hold back their tears, and most importantly, that the country cannot be broken and that today, more than ever, we are united.
