The rains give way to the haze, which will be intense this Sunday

The Aemet has activated the yellow notice for the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura due to suspended dust | In the western part of the archipelago, the opposite scenario: warning for rain

Once again, the Canary Islands will have a weekend of contrasts ahead of them in terms of weather. On the one hand,
the rains will continue to irrigate the archipelago during the morning of this Saturday, especially in the western islands, without ruling out Gran Canaria. For another,
the haze will enter Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, being able to reach the round island, and it will intensify on Sunday, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

In La Gomera and El Hierro the showers can be locally strong during the early hours of Saturday morning, while in Tenerife in the first half of this day. So much so that Aemet has extended the yellow warning for accumulated precipitation for these three islands until Saturday morning. Accumulation is expected
15 liters of water in an hour per square meter.

In fact, the Canary Islands is the Spanish autonomy that has received the most water this Friday, with the La Dama station, in Vallehermoso, La Gomera, being the one that receives the most: 25 liters in one hour per square meter, registered until 5:00 p.m. They are followed by La Palma Airport (19.1 liters); Tijarafe (19 liters), San Sebastián de La Gomera (18.4); and Puntagorda (18).

At the same time,
snow is expected on El Teide and weak frosts on the peaks of the beaked and beautiful island. Despite this, temperatures will tend to rise slightly.

The truth is that the archipelago has also registered the highest temperatures in the country, with Puerto de la Cruz and La Aldea de San Nicolás at the forefront, with 22.7 degrees. They complete the ‘ranking’ Tazacorte (21.1º); Adeje (21st); El Hierro Airport (20.8º); and Tasarte, La Aldea (20.6º).

Meanwhile, the wind will blow from the southeast in the eastern part of the archipelago, with strong intervals during the morning. In the rest of the islands, the wind, from the southern component, will tend to be light to moderate, abating in the afternoon.

The weather this sunday

The skies will look slightly cloudy this Sunday, during the early morning and at the end of the day, in the western islands, although at noon
Rains are not ruled out, especially in northern and inland areas. On La Palma they can become stronger.

In the eastern ones, the intervals of high clouds will predominate and the haze can intensify in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, as well as reaching Gran Canaria during the afternoon. In fact,
Aemet has activated the yellow warning for visibility -of 3,000 meters-, due to the dust in suspension, in the islands of Conejera and Majorera.

The maximum temperatures will tend to rise and the minimum to remain stable, except in the inland areas of the central islands, where they are expected to precipitate.

In turn, an east to southeast wind is expected with strong intervals, at noon, in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, as well as an occasional very strong gust. In the rest of the archipelago the intensity of the wind will be weak and the direction variable.
