On April 16, the mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, came to one of the fire and rescue units and met with emergency personnel. Together, they inspected the equipment and special equipment purchased, in particular, with the funds of the city, as well as the relevant ministry and international partners of Dnipro.
“Dnipro is the leader according to the results of 2023 in support of rescuers. We can only be compared with the capital (although we do not have such budgets). We will continue to help our rescuers. Today I thanked them because they are on the front line defense,” Filatov emphasized.
Rescuers have emergency rescue and engineering equipment in their arsenal. There is a “Bogun” snowmobile, a tow truck, multi-ton water tankers, various emergency and rescue vehicles, special radiation and chemical reconnaissance vehicles, a generator-lighting vehicle and transport of a mobile operational group. There is also a mobile control center and a mobile kitchen, currently the only one in Ukraine.
And also – car stairs, among which one of the highest in the country.
“Last year, at the expense of the city budget (with the help of the city mayor and the deputy corps), a unique 62-meter German-made car ladder was purchased for the garrison of the State Emergency Service. It will help us a lot in saving the Dnieper (and not only), but also in extinguishing fires,” – noted the head of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Yury Koretsky. In addition, the city also helped to provide rescuers with diving equipment.
