Russia may begin counteroffensive actions at the end of May or in June. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with the American TV channel CBS.

He noted that there are discussions with Ukrainian partners about this.

“We share all the information with our partners and say that Russia will prepare counteroffensive actions. And it could be the end of May, it could be June,” Zelensky emphasized.

According to him, it is necessary not only to prepare for this, not only to stabilize the front, but also to help Ukraine from partners. He added that the partners are sometimes very happy that the situation in the east of Ukraine has stabilized and “hold their fists for us and say that we have strength.”

“We say: “No. “We need your help now to prepare the appropriate brigades that will have to fight for our land, especially at the moment of counter-offensive actions that Russia wants to start,” the President of Ukraine said.

Zelensky noted that, as of today, the situation in the east of our state, where the most dangerous of all is directed, has stabilized.

“The situation is stabilized as much as possible, given the fact that there is a shortage of appropriate weapons and ammunition, despite the fact that we are starting to prepare brigades for the corresponding actions that are important for us. We have stabilized the situation. It is better than two or three months ago,” he emphasized.

The situation at the front – the latest news

As UNIAN reported, Brigadier General Alexander Tarnavskyi, commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group, stated that the line of defense in the areas of Tonenko, Orlovka, and Berdychev has been stabilized in the Avdeev direction. According to him, requests for offensive actions by the Russians in the districts of Novomykhaylovka and Rabotino were not successful.

Tarnavskyi added that the line of defense is being strengthened in the Avdeevka direction and the defense of settlements west of Avdeevka is being organized to prevent the invaders from advancing further.

It was also reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces slowed down the offensive of the invaders on one of the directed fronts. The enemy army achieved only minor tactical successes in other directions.
