One of the main issues on the agenda of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the G7 ministerial meeting this week in Italy will be Washington’s concern about Beijing’s support for the Russian military-industrial base. Moscow uses Chinese components for the production of weapons that then appears on the battlefield in Ukraine.
This was announced on Tuesday, April 16, at a briefing in Washington by the speaker of the US State Department, Matthew Miller. He noted the concern of the White House that in recent months, dual-use materials have been moved from China to Russia.
Miller noted that the US Secretary of State actively raised this issue during the NATO ministerial meeting a week ago.
“This will certainly also be on the agenda tomorrow, when he arrives at the G7 meeting to meet with representatives of the G7 partner countries,” said the spokesperson of the US State Department.
In addition, according to Miller, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken intends to discuss these issues directly with the Chinese side during his visit to China in the coming weeks.
“You can be sure that these concerns will be voiced by them,” the representative of the State Department noted.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, China will not perceive external interference or restrictions on partnership with Russia. Countries have the right to “normal cooperation”.
The US State Department is concerned about China’s efforts to help Russia restore its defense and industrial base. In the States, Beijing’s support for Russia’s war against Ukraine is viewed as a security threat to Europe and the world.
According to the speaker of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, the administration of President Biden clearly explained that China should not take any steps that would help support the aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
