New payments for orphans: the ministry revealed details and amounts

The Government of Ukraine launches the “Child is not alone” program, which provides financial support to children who lost their parents as a result of the war, in the amount of 2.5 of the subsistence minimum for children of the appropriate age, as well as 3.5 subsistence minimum for children with disabilities. This help provided automatically after the child obtains the status of an orphan or a child deprived of parental care, it is paid within 6 months, with the possibility of further extension.
This is reported by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine. “The aid was introduced so that families in which such children are temporarily could provide them with the necessary conditions and care “, the message says.
According to the calculations of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the state will need to allocate for this assistance about UAH 0.5 billion per hour. Amount of payments:
- 2.5 of the subsistence minimum for children of the corresponding age per child;
- 3.5 of the subsistence minimum for children of the corresponding age per person with a disability;
- for children up to 6 years old – UAH 2563respectively 2.5 of the subsistence minimum – UAH 6,407.5;
- 3.5 subsistence minimum – UAH 8,970.5;
- for children from 6 to 18 years old – UAH 3,196, corresponding to 2.5 of the subsistence minimum – UAH 7,990;
- 3.5 subsistence minimum – UAH 11,186
The amount of payments is determined at the level that the state provides in support of children, who already have the status of an orphan or a child deprived of parental care.
To get this help you should apply within 6 months to a person temporarily taking in a child, provided that this family permanently resides in Ukraine. Payment is possible to receive through the social protection bodies of the population, TsNAP or executive bodies of territorial municipalities.
Payment a representative of a foster family or a family-type children’s home can arrange it, in which the child is temporarily located. Reasons may be cases when parents or one of the parents:
- died or died (and the other parent does not fulfill his obligations);
- is in temporary occupation, encirclement;
- is wanted as a missing person under special circumstances or recognized as such;
- is in captivity of the aggressor state;
- deprived of freedom (detention, hostage-taking) by the aggressor state.
Temporary assistance will be paid by the social protection authority of the population to the recipient’s personal account in an authorized bank, which he indicated when filling out the application. It can also be paid at the post office at the place of residence.
