According to airline sources, PIA’s Jeddah-Islamabad flight was landed in Lahore instead of Islamabad. Before that, the PIA plane was waiting for Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and their delegation at Jeddah Airport for two hours. stood and the passengers sat in the plane for two hours waiting for the official delegation.
Passengers say that despite the departure of the official delegation, the plane remained at Lahore Airport for two hours. Jeddah-Islamabad flight PK 842 had 380 passengers on board.
Meanwhile, the passengers from Islamabad and KPK who were sitting on the plane at Lahore Airport protested strongly. The demand of the passengers was to let us get off the plane, we will go to Islamabad by bus or train.
The PIA flight that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his delegation took to Saudi Arabia on April 7 was also landed in Madinah instead of Jeddah. Passengers also protested against Lahore-Jeddah flight PK 759 landing at Madinah Munawara.
Airline sources say that by changing the flight route both times while the official delegation was going to and coming from Saudi Arabia, not only the reputation of PIA was damaged, but the passengers also faced severe mental and physical torture. By doing so, PIA had to incur additional expenses of lakhs of rupees in fuel and other expenses.
