The Supreme Court annulled the decision to change the cadre of Sindh police personnel.
In the Supreme Court, a case related to changing the cadre of Information Technology (IT) police officers in the Sindh Police was heard.
The case was heard by a bench headed by Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi. The order of the Supreme Court said that these employees should be kept in the Sindh Police and promoted.
During the hearing, the lawyer of the employees said that after 20 years of work in the police stations, it was decided to make the employees non-uniform.
Sindh government’s lawyer maintained that the Sindh High Court has outlawed the IT cadre in the police, the high court’s decision affected other employees along with the pending case.
On this, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi said that most of these employees have got jobs in police stations, the employees now have the experience of working in the style of ordinary officers.
The court further said in the judgment that changing the cadre after 20 years of service and making non-uniform will only cause harm.
During the hearing, DIG Sindh Police said that there are only three cadres in the police, executive, T&T and legal, these employees are being transferred to T&T.
Justice Musrat Hilali said that you are neither managing the province nor managing your institution.
In the hearing, the lawyer-employees said that the ASI recruits 20 years ago have become inspectors today.
It may be recalled that 113 employees were recruited as ASI Computer in 2004, after 11 years it was decided to make the recruited employees non-uniform.
The decision of non-uniformation was challenged in the High Court, the Sindh High Court declared the IT cadre in the police illegal.
