In a special meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Murree, it was decided to legislate for the death penalty in cases of rape of women and children.

A detailed review of the law and order situation in Punjab was also taken in the meeting. Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary also participated in the meeting.

According to the announcement, in the meeting, IG Punjab gave a briefing on the overall law and order situation in the province, suggestions and recommendations were presented in the meeting for measures to protect the life and property of the people, a special unit for the elimination of organized and cyber crimes. And IT training was decided.

In the meeting, approval was also given to implement a special audit system to identify corruption and unprofessional behavior in the police, while it was also decided in the meeting that there will be a special court-martial for police officers and officials who colluded with criminals. .

According to the announcement, a complaint can be registered on CMK’s special dashboard for demanding bribes, the proposal to establish border security forces to prevent smuggling was considered, it was decided to establish a functional specialized police force against crime.

In the meeting, it was approved to continue the campaign to eliminate drugs, it was decided to amend the laws to eliminate illegal arms culture in Punjab, it was ordered to make more full-proof arrangements for kite flying and metal wire.

The Chief Minister of Punjab said that the reduction of crimes can be ensured by ensuring punishment, those involved in the cases of rape of children and women should be brought to justice, the protection of every citizen of Punjab is the primary responsibility of the government.

Maryam Nawaz said that the police will be provided with modern weapons, equipment, vehicles, night vision and drones, effective action should be ensured for permanent elimination of terrorism, trafficking and gangs, there is a need to improve the system of prosecution and investigation.
